A job board is an online platform that allows people to search for an apply to job listings from employers, staffing firms and other sources.
Typically these sites consist of a way for candidates to upload a resume, create email job alerts and read career advice.
Employers are able to post jobs and search resumes for a fee.
Job boards got their start back in the 1990’s when sites like Monster, Hotjobs (now defunct) and CareerBuilder began operations.
Now more than 20 years later the job board industry is both mature and growing with a number of new player and niches gaining traction. The national sites which are popular now include ZipRecruiter and Indeed.com.
