I have always used Adsense on my job boards as another source of revenue. Back when I owned AllCountyJobs I was earning $2k per month fairly regularly on traffic of 150,000 monthly visitors.
These days I don’t earn that much since I only run a handful of sites that are much smaller but recently I made one change that really boosted my earnings.
I removed ads off the home page.
Yep, I changed the Adsense setting so that no ads appeared on the home page. This drove more people to use the site and click into more pages which has resulted in a nice boost in Revenue. Its been about a month and so far it’s working.
So if you have Adsense on your sites consider this type of adjustment. By removing them from the homepage you will encourage site visitors to click into the site and drive more page views anyway. Its an overall better user experience with the added benefit of more revenue.
