If it weren’t for job boards small businesses would have no place to post their jobs and get resumes.
I know this because I’m recruiting for a small tech company in Connecticut now. Since no one really knows our company name that well I HAVE to use job boards in order to create applicant flow.
Big companies have the advantage of a name brand and get much more volume of candidates purely from their company career site. But if you are a small company you dont have that luxury. Small business NEEDS job boards in order to drive traffic to their jobs.
This is a fact that will never change and something that people tend to forget. I still see ‘job boards are dead’ articles online, problem is none of them who wrote those ever worked as recruiter for a small company.
Just keep this in mind next time you see one of those articles. And remember where your value proposition lies in your job board. Small business should be a big part of your target market. They need you. Cater to them.
