Let me just say right upfront that job seekers are the most frugal consumers on the internet. They don’t pay for shit!
However you can eek out a few dollars here and there from them if you make it cheap enough and only rely on it as a secondary revenue source.
I’ve been running job boards since 1999 and here’s my list of what they will pay for.
1. ebooks. If you can put together a 20 page pdf file with information that is valuable like advice for working in your niche market you can sell that for 5 or 10 bucks.
2. Resume upgrades. Software like Jobtarget.com has built in products that let job seekers highlight their resumes when employers are searching the database. Linkedin is probably the prime example of this with their $29.95 job seeker account. When I ran my sites with Jobtarget I charged $9.95 for the upgrade feature. It didnt sell many perhaps 3-5 a month, but hey, it was extra money.
3. Resume writing. Hire a resume writer to funnel leads to. Take a cut of that fee.
4. Valuable jobs you cant find anywhere else. The best examples of this would be flexjobs.com and Workinsports.com. Both sites offer hard to find jobs that are vetted for job seekers. They charge a monthly fee for access to these job listings.
