I had a call this week with a blogger who has a site that he wants to monetize with a job board. He’s in the travel niche and wanted to know if he could charge job seekers something. I told him maybe.
One of his competitor’s charges a small fee for job seekers to get listed on their site/directory. Something like 10-30 bucks per year. That is certainly feasible if you have a free option also. When I ran AllCountyJobs we let job seekers feature their resume for 10 bucks for 30 days. It wasnt a big money maker but we picked up five or six of those per month so it just added to the bottom line.
So yes you can charge if you offer them value and you keep it inexpensive. In most cases job seekers are cheap and wont pay for anything.
