Dont have a particular topic in mind for this post so I thought I would just put down some random things for everyone.
First read this post about what it takes to succeed as an entrepreneur. Its one of the best things I have seen that really cuts to the heart for getting any business off the ground. Since my new startup, CareerCloud is still finding its ways, I am constantly inviting people to use it through twitter, Linkedin and other social media. In fact on Linkedin groups I make a point to invite 50 job seekers each day. I just go through a list of members in a group I belong to and send them a short message like this;
SUBJECT LINE: Jobs With Friends
MESSAGE: Since we are part of the Darien Professionals group I wanted to introduce you to ‘Jobs With Friends’, a new way to leverage your facebook friends & linkedin connections in any job hunt. If you know of anyone in need of a job please pass this on http://friends.careercloud.com/
Keep your message short and sweet! Messaging thru Linkedin definitely works.
Second, I’m looking for job boards who want to add a “Social Apply” button to their job description pages. At CareerCloud we are developing a way to aggregate a persons social media profiles. There will be an API for job boards and ATS systems to add so that a candidate can attach their social resume to a job allication. Email me chris at careercloud.com if interested.
Thirdly, so far I’m liking the Jobboard.io software that I put on JobsinSocialMedia.com. Its getting 2-3 postings a month and the indeed backfill is contributing about $150 a month with only 2,000 monthly uniques, not bad. Def more than SimplyHired pays out.
