I know a thing or two about selling job boards. I’ve sold many of them over the years. But you have to do certain things to make them more sell-able. Here are five tips to do just that.
1. Make it look good. If it looks shitty get it redesigned. Invest in a good logo. A well designed jobboard is paramount in making it sell-able.
2. Have revenue. This goes without saying but it needs to have some kind of reliable revenue stream. Add backfill and adsense to the mix to make more money. Think multiple revenue streams.
3. Be in a good niche. Nobody wants a site that targets a dying industry.
4. Make it turn-key. Outsource your technology so that the site is less reliant on a human to run it.
5. Have good SEO. Get lots of backlinks and have search engine friendly pages. Start a blog to help your seo.
If you concentrate on these five things you can sell your job board after 1-2 years.
Just do it.
