I do mostly email prospecting to get new clients but a small part of my lead generation activities involve snail mail.
First I look for physical addresses on google and job boards. If you do a search like this;
“mail resume to” and Syracuse
I use postcards like the ones below which I order on 48hourprint.com. They’re cheap and they stand out when I hand write the employer address on the back.
Then for a more powerful snail mail technique I use Priority Mail Envelopes. For about $5 I can send a sales letter inside this envelope directly to a name at a company. Its an awesome way to stand out and its pretty much guaranteed to be read. For every 5 of these I send out I usually get 1-2 new sign ups.
