Snagajob, the hourly job board has been acquired by JobGet the mobile first hourly job search app.
This acquisition brings JobGet’s reach now to over 100 million hourly workers — covering nearly the entire hourly workforce in the United States. Snagajob will operate as a standalone entity within JobGet, allowing employers to continue leveraging Snagajob’s platform while benefiting from JobGet’s resources and technology.
“JobGet was founded to address a real, urgent need: the challenge that everyday workers face in finding jobs and that employers face in finding quality candidates,” said Tony Liu, founder and CEO of JobGet. “With Snagajob as part of our platform, we are furthering our mission to create accessible pathways to employment for everyday workers while empowering employers to connect with quality candidates instantly and efficiently.”
Keith Forshew, CEO of Snagajob, added, “Since Snagajob was founded 25 years ago, the company’s mission of helping hourly workers find right-fit jobs has never wavered, and we’re confident that this mission will not only continue but thrive as part of JobGet.”
I’ve been waiting for someone to buy Snagajob since they have been struggling in recent years to stay relevant. The move by JobGet is a smart one. It eliminates a competitor while also giving them a web presence for more traffic. There is likely overlap of users between the two, but JobGet now has an entry into SEO traffic for their jobs. -CR
NOTE: ComScore ranks Snagajob #23 among job boards. They claim roughly 3.6 million monthly visitors.
