Three new job boards have launched recently. Two in the U.S. and one for the UK.
Professional Diversity Network, Inc. (NASDAQ: IPDN), a developer and operator of online and in-person networks that provide access to networking, training, educational and employment opportunities for diverse individuals, today announced its launch of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (APA) job board https://apajobs.com/, a fully integrated job board located on APA’s website. Alpha Phi Alpha is the largest historically black fraternity.
PDN, one of the largest diverse professional networks in the nation, collaborated with Alpha Phi Alpha to launch an easy-to-access job board at the APA website for their over 85,000 current alumni members.
HireBasis has recently gone live after several months of development, and currently boasts over two thousand users from around the world, and hundreds of new jobseekers joining the site every week. The site also curates hundreds of remote jobs every month while also allowing employers to post jobs for free.
While the site features job search and candidate search features commonly seen on many job boards, the innovation is in the way job candidates may complete skills tests which take a total of 10-15 minutes for the typical jobseeker to in turn get a “HireBasis” percentile score from 1 to 99. The score factors the following attributes:
– English Proficiency from B1/B2 English Fluency to C1/C2 Business English Fluency;
– Critical Reasoning skills; and
– Typing Speed
The site is free for both employers to use and job seekers. The site refers employers to leading Employer of Record (EOR) companies, OysterHR and Remote.com linked on the jobseekers’ profile page. It seeks to promote the growing trends of skills-based hiring (SBH) and international hiring through EOR providers to help jobseekers around the world become better situated in their careers while helping employers leverage lower prevailing wages in developing nations. Ultimately the objective is to create a win-win situation for both the employer and jobseeker.
