Backfill is important for any new job board. Newcomer Job Boardly, a low cost provider of job software, announced a partnership with job aggregator Adzuna. Co-founder Kyle Davidson made the announcement via email.
Many job board software platforms have backfill integrations but only a few let you directly monetize it. It nice to see another way to make money being added to the mix here.
Its not substantial money unless you have a lot of traffic, but it is “free money” there for the taking to add to your bottom line. Every little bit helps and I wish every software vendor in the market spent more time on helping job board owners monetize their traffic with new ways to earn.
Here’s the details…
We’ve partnered with Adzuna. Our partnership allows you to display jobs from their network (for free!) AND earn money at the same time. This program is still in BETA but we’ve made it available in all accounts.
Q. How does it work?
Once you opt-in and choose your country and industry, five Adzuna jobs will be added per page on your job board. Each one will have a small tag that says “Sponsored” and the feed will refresh every 3 hours. Currently it only supports jobs in the US and in the UK in a variety of industries (hopefully more countries in the future).
Q. How much will I earn?
The Adzuna network operates on a completely dynamic bidding system. It is pay-per-click rev-share model. For example, some clicks might pay $0.03 and another may pay $0.10. Unfortunately there’s no way to estimate how much you will earn per click. It is very dependent on your niche and your site traffic. The pay-per-click model of Adzuna is likely a better fit for higher traffic boards. BUT, the cool thing is you can use this as a way to display additional jobs on your job board and even earn a little bit for doing so. It’s like backfilling that gets you paid.
Q. How do payouts work?
We’re still ironing out a few details while this feature is in beta, but rest assured we’re tracking your clicks and earnings. As we get closer to an official launch this information will appear in your account. I really want to stress this integration is in BETA. This means the feature is not entirely complete but you are getting early access.
