Kibbi, a Canadian online job board for immigrants and mobile app, has raised $1.1 million CAD in a pre-seed round. The round was led by The51, with participation from Viewpoint Investment Partners, a few angels, and family and friends.
Kibbi was founded by Hong Phuc Nguyen, who fled to Canada from Hong Kong in 2019. Nguyen says she created Kibbi because she found the job search process to be difficult and isolating as a newcomer.
The app matches users with jobs based on their skills and experience. It also provides users with resources and support, such as interview preparation tips and networking opportunities.
Kibbi currently has over 6,000 users and is available in English and French. The company plans to use the funding to expand its team, develop new features, and grow its user base.
