Harris, a global vertical market software provider and acquirer, has joined the online recruitment space with the acquisition of Quebec-based employment website, Jobillico.
With over 3 million users in Canada, Jobillico supports a network of over 5,000 employers in recruiting top talent using a digital platform that is largely developed and maintained by its Québec City team. According to Serge Lavallée, President and Cofounder of Jobillico, the acquisition announcement is excellent news for the future of the organization: “Harris has shown a deep commitment to our customers, our employees, and our product. I am very confident that this acquisition will only drive the company forward.”

Quebec is Canada’s second biggest market in Canada after Ontario. I asked my friend Serge Boudreau who works I talent acquisition in Canada, and is also host of the Recruitment Flex podcast about the deal. He told me;
Jobllico has been very successful in Quebec but has struggled to make any inroads in other Canadian markets such as Ontario and Western market. I would say they’re very much a regional player in Canada. They’ve been able to make life difficult for Indeed and Talent.com in Quebec which is a very unique market in the Canadian landscape as all job ads need to be bilingual. They are basically non existent outside of that market.
