Google Helps Rhode Island Launch New Matching Job Board
Back to Work Rhode Island, a state-led workforce development initiative, Monday unveiled a virtual career center platform that will allow Rhode Islanders to not only find employment, but also get matched with career opportunities based on their skills.
Hailed by Google as a first of its kind, the new virtual career center was developed in collaboration with Google Cloud and the Providence nonprofit Research Improving People’s Lives. It will allow job seekers to schedule virtual meetings with career coaches that match their skillsets, connect with prospective employers, participate in training opportunities, and receive help with building effective resumes.
The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) has announced the launch of its new National Job Board.
In an effort to connect the veteran community with leading employers DVNF created a national job board platform that gives the employer and employee’s the resources to guide each other to an amazing relationship. The job board is free for all employers’ who are motivated to hire military veterans; the employer toolkit guides employers to the resources in the support of hiring veterans as well as allowing businesses to post their job opening for FREE.
“As DVNF works to ensure that our veterans are cared for, we are working to build new programs, and expand our current services,” said DVNF CEO, Joseph VanFonda (USMC SgtMaj Ret.). “We feel that this new platform and cleaner appearance will help set a solid base for the present and the future of the foundation.”
The new National Job Board site launched on February 19th, and features a completely unique layout and user interface. The new National Job Board can be found on www.jobs.dvnf.

A new digital platform connecting career women to flexible employers with mom-friendly, inclusive cultures – jobs.mom – has officially launched.
The mission of jobs.mom is to get professional mothers back to work, giving them access to companies that provide the support and resources they need to successfully balance work and family life.
jobs.mom goes further to provide top level services and personal support to an ever-expanding network of job-hunting mothers, including resume help and interview coaching – as well as offering corporate inclusivity certification for businesses.
Although the initial roll-out of jobs.mom is in the US, further global regions are planned for 2021.
