Lo and behold they are curating a jobs email that they charge $17 a month for.
This sort of biz model works great for jobs that are harder to get and location less (aka remote). And you don’t even need job board software to start one! You just need an email tool and a way to charge them.
Platforms exist today such as Substack. They let anyone start a newsletter and charge people access to it.
Your job would then to curate the job content by finding it online and linking to it from within the newsletter. Takes work, but you don’t need to worry about the employer side of your market. People will pay for curation if if saves them time and effort.
I would expect to see more of these types of sites launch since its much easier today to start a membership based site or email list. SmartJobBoard now allows you to do this with their recurring products. You can also check out membership platforms like Circle.
