I received the email below in an attempt to get a backlink placed on one of my sites. I thought it was a good example of how to write a backlink request so wanted to pass it along to my premium members.
Subject line: Apologies in advance, Recruiting Headlines
Hi Recruiting Headlines,
This is a cold outreach, which gives you 3 options:
1.Ignore me, and continue working (most popular)
2. Send me an angry reply with lots of profanity.
3. Find out what I want to give you in exchange for you linking to our amazing blog post:
I manage the content for Robert Neckelius and when I showed him your article “How The Gig Economy Will Change In 2020”, he thought it was awesome and asked me how we can get them (you) to link to us.
I told Robert “let’s do something different, and offer them your book “2 Hour Agency” with all the upsells!”
He was a bit hesitant, but I stressed the importance of us not being like every other blogger out there who asks for links without offering anything in return. Robert agreed, and here we are.
We’ve recently published a long-form article on How To Move From Solo-Freelancer To Starting A Digital Agency, you can check it out here https://neckelius.com/freelance-to-digital-agency/.
If you’d link from https://recruitingheadlines.com/how-the-gig-economy-will-change-in-2020/ to our post, Recruiting Headlines, we’d love to give you free access to the assets below.
2 Hour Agency eBook ($5.60
2 Hour Agency Audiobook ($9.95)
Behind The Scenes Video Walkthrough ($17)
Ultimate Agency Package ($97)
All you gotta do is set up the link, reply to this email to let me know, we’ll quickly check it out and send over your access.
Whether you decide to or not, thanks a lot for taking the time to read, and hope that we can serve each other going forward.
All the best,
Joe BabiContent Manager
PS. Not sure how long we’ll offer this as we are technically cannibalizing our sales a little bit by giving it away for free, so let me know if you’re interested.
