Are you leveraging your job board signups through email to make more money? You should be. If not, here’s a good example for how to do it.
Last year I spent a great deal of time in Maine at a local job site company helping them refine a lot of their products and processes. One of my last contributions was to help them begin to monetize emails.
It happened kind of accidentally actually. I had to spread the word for a client and decided to do a dedicated email blast to a group of around 10,000 job seekers in New Hampshire. Another client happened to be on the list too and immediately called their sales rep to say they wanted their own email blast.
Anyway, the product has now been launched to their entire client base across New England. There are 3 different email products to choose from. 1) They can sponsor the weekly job seeker newsletter 2) Buy a dedicated email blast 3) Have their job included in an combined ‘Look Who’s Hiring’ email with other companies.
The email announcing the new product contains links to sell sheets at the bottom for employers to review. These sell sheets contain a preview of what each email would like like along with a call to action to call their sales rep. Pricing is around $300-$400 for the dedicated email blast. It’s good money if you can get it. As long as you have at least 1,000 emails in your list you can monetize it. For that small a list I might charge something $99 for a blast.
So if you have an email list and haven’t monetized it yet, add email sponsorships to your product mix and increase your bottom line.
