Just a quick reminder that if you want to run a job board today (or any kind of recruiting technology) you need to be good at internet marketing.
Specifically you need to know how to market your product properly with the right messaging targeted at the right audience. Without that skill set you will most certainly fail.
I still see too many ‘build it and they will come’ founders in the recruiting space who think their product will sell itself.
It won’t.
You need to get good at;
- Lead generation
- Email marketing
- Content marketing
- SEM/SEO
- Social media engagement with your customers
So my advice to you is before you launch your site, app or other tool, learn as much as you can about online marketing. Educate yourself or hire someone who’s done it before.
