Messaging employers for leads is part art, part science. I’ve tried a lot of experimentation when it comes to this. Generally speaking I can get open rates of 25-50% depending on the product and quality of each email lead.
Some of my best success came from using Hubspot’s sales CRM. I was able to create and send up to 150 emails per day from their tool pitching CareerCloud’s job board. I booked $10k of sales in 3 months doing it part time. (2-3 hours a day). My open rate was 35%.
The other day I got an email from someone that I was a good example of a lead gen attempt and thought it could be applied to employers.

Hey Chris,
I emailed you a couple months ago, but you were probably chasing down evil villains and saving the city. =)
I reached out because you were exploring Sumo for Job of Mine.
Our growth expert, Kevin, and I were looking at the site again this morning and we noticed something you really need to fix to increase conversions.

So that’s a pretty good email. It got me to open it which is half the battle. But the content also intrigued me. Here’s how I imagine it useful for a job board or other recruiting tool.
