I hear from job seekers nearly every week. One of the struggles they have in the job hunt is trying to relocate for a job. Right now in the USA (and the world) there are millions of people who would take a job in another city/state if they knew how to get it.
And that is the basis for my idea. I think this is a site that needs to exist but currently doesn’t.
I haven’t done an ideas post in a while but here it is. I am putting it out there to my loyal readers. Anyone who reads this is welcome to the idea. Go ahead and start it.
Essentially I would love to see a site that matches workers who want to relocate to new places.
- Job seekers register, list their skills and social profiles then choose the 3 cities they want to move to.
- Employers can sign up for alerts for people who match their skill requirements and/or post jobs too.
- Additional relocation services could even be offered as well as housing assistance (have apartment listings for each job)
The site would have a chat platform so recruiter and candidate can chat to see if their is mutual interest.
We could call it WorkRelo or something like that. Companies in every state cant find the workers they need but those people probably exist in another place. Imagine if we connected them.
