Here are 5 things you can do to immediately get more traffic.
1. Step up your social media. Hire intern for $10/hr, and instruct them to post throughout the day on facebook, twitter and google plus. Share articles related to your niche and general job search advice articles. Scour youtube for funny videos about work/office/jobs and embed them in a blog post with a short snippet that you write and leverage these videos for content. Follow career coaches and resume writers and retweet and like their articles. They will in turn follow you and share some of your content.
2. Start a Linkedin group, kick it off by inviting your existing contact list to join. You can upload a large email address and send invites for them to join it. I have a social recruiting group that I started a few years back and today it has 3,000 members. I can now post stuff freely and send blast messages once per week. The banner on it has my site logo.
3. Check sites like Flippa for old job boards and buy them Fwd the domains to your new site to get the backlinks. I recently bought twitjobs.net and the owner threw in 6 twitter accounts with the sale. One of the twitter accounts has 197,000 followers. I got it all for $525 bucks. After redirecting the url to my Jobcritters.com site I just picked up several backlinks.
4. More content. Become a content machine. Google will love you and so will your users. I like how Good.co does it on their blog. Start writing at least one article per day about interviewing/resume or the industry you serve.
5. Post stuff on Reddit. Redditt is an awesome source of traffic and has several job related sub-reddits to post to. Post interesting articles from your content library. Dont spam it but just add value.
