Most niche job boards are located in the United States. There are probably 10-15 sites for any industry if you know where to look.
But globally speaking, there are not as many. I own JobsinSocialMedia.com and have been thinking about creating a canadian and/or uk version. Ive gotten a few emails the past year from people asking how to find social media jobs in other countries. I smell opportunity.
So that got me wondering about other niches that may be underserved in places like canada, ireland, uk and europe. Are there job boards for every industry in those countries? My guess is no.
I say no because these countries are smaller than the US so they have been traditionally served by bigger job boards like Workoplis for Canada or Allthetopbananas in the UK. I’m will to bet there is room for some niche sites in these countries.
https://www.freshgigs.ca is a good example of a niche site in Canada.
Do some homework and look for hot job markets like trucking, healthcare, technology, sales and see if you can find niche sites for them in the countries I mentioned. If you dont, that could be an opportunity. Dont worry that you many not live in that country you can use online ads to target users there and see what kind of response you can get. You could backfill with listings from Indeed’s api since you can specify jobs by country.
Thats my idea of the month, its yours if you want to run with it!
Cheers,
Chris
