Whether you own a job board or some other type of HR/recruitment technology its highly important to begin educating your clients and prospective clients.
For my new company I’m already writing blog posts about how to leverage social media for recruiting. But blogs aren’t enough. I’m going to start a webinar series also. Webinars are awesome virtual events to have. You can do them yourself or hire an industry expert to do one for you. This webinar by Craig Fisher for RecruitingBlogs got over 1200 viewers that day! Thats a massive captive audience.
You can have webinars that simply demo your product but the ones that will be most watched will be ones in which you educate your audience through tips/tools/tactics they can use in their daily job.
Consider also writing some kind of white paper or infographic. One white paper that gets lots of free press is Jobvite’s annual social recruiting survey.
Start to think of yourself as a news/content publisher. Giving away free information about how to succeed in whatever industry you serve will go a long way in marketing your products and services. Even job seekers will appreciate ways to get ahead, or tactics for job hunting.
I have said it many times and I’ll say it again. Content in the new marketing! And it comes in all forms: blogging, webinars, whitepapers, infographics and more.
