I do a lot of cold emailing prospects, ususally I keep the message very short (under 3 sentences) and have had decent success doing that. Recently I heard about this guy who teaches cold emailing tips. He has a free pdf you can download if you enter your email address, its worth a read.
It might be worth trying his technique and just change the message body to reflect your offering. When it comes to sending emails its important to test different messages/subject lines to see which are more effective.
