The one thing you need to do if you are niche job board (member-only)

You need to explicitly say who you are/what you do.

I was recently tipped off to a new niche job site called Harri.com. When I first went to it I saw this home page.

Ok its a nice looking site but what the NICHE do they serve? It is not immediately clear that they serve the restaurant & hospitality industry. The popup box in the middle is a nice way to funnel vistors but they are missing an opportunity to explain their value proposition.

Their tagline says ‘happiness in hiring’. What does that mean? If I am a first time visitor coming to the site I need to know if I’m in the right place. Here are some sample taglines that I would recommend instead;

“Restaurant Hiring Made Easy”

or

“Simplifying Restaurant Hiring”

or

“Find Restaurant & Hospitality Talent”
